46 Village and Ward Secretariat Employees Booked After Chalo Vijayawada Protest

The ‘Chalo Vijayawada’ protest by Village and Ward Secretariat employees in Andhra Pradesh has reportedly led to police cases against 46 employees. The employees had gathered in Vijayawada from different parts of the state to raise their concerns over workload, duties and other service-related issues.

According to reports, Satyanarayanapuram police registered cases against 46 people who participated in the protest.

Employees Raise Concerns Over Service Issues

Village and Ward Secretariat employees have been raising several issues related to their workload, duties and service conditions for some time. They organised the Chalo Vijayawada programme to bring their demands to the attention of the state government.

The employees have also been seeking the implementation of assurances made during the election period and resolution of their pending service-related concerns.

Cases Registered After Chalo Vijayawada

The reported cases against 46 employees have triggered discussion among employee groups. They have questioned the registration of cases against workers who came to Vijayawada to raise their concerns.

Employee representatives argue that issues related to service conditions should be addressed through discussions rather than police action.

Employees Seek Withdrawal of Cases

Employee groups are demanding that the cases registered against the 46 participants be withdrawn. They have also urged the government to hold talks with Village and Ward Secretariat employees and address their pending demands.

They said employees should be allowed to raise their concerns peacefully and called for a dialogue-based approach to resolving the service-related issues of Village and Ward Secretariat employees in Andhra Pradesh.

The development has once again brought attention to the pending demands of Village and Ward Secretariat employees and their efforts to seek a response from the state government.
