KTR Makes Sensational Allegations Against Congress Government

Telangana is witnessing a style of governance reminiscent of the Emergency under the Congress government, BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) alleged. He criticized the Congress government, claiming that democracy is facing a serious threat under its rule.

KTR said that the developments involving BRS MLAs and MLCs inside the Telangana Assembly were brought to the attention of Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla.

KTR-Led BRS Delegation Meets Governor

On Wednesday, September 9, a 10-member delegation of suspended BRS MLAs and MLCs, led by KTR, met Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Lok Bhavan.

During the meeting, the delegation submitted a 13-page complaint outlining the developments that took place in the Assembly, along with allegations regarding the government’s failures on several issues.

BRS Lists Several Government Failures

KTR alleged that the Congress government had failed on multiple fronts during its 1,000 days in office. He specifically raised issues including:

  • Urea shortages affecting farmers
  • Rythu Bima-related concerns
  • Government job recruitment
  • Problems faced by polytechnic students
  • Failure to fulfill employment promises

KTR criticized the Congress government for allegedly misleading people after promising to provide 2 lakh jobs.

He also alleged that BRS members wearing black T-shirts were stopped by police when they attempted to enter the Assembly.

KTR Alleges Misbehavior Against BRS Women Leaders

KTR made serious allegations regarding the treatment of BRS women leaders during the recent Assembly-related incidents.

He alleged that former Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy was held by the throat by male police personnel. He further alleged that former minister Sunitha Lakshma Reddy’s saree was pulled during the incident.

KTR accused the government of attacking BRS leaders and subsequently filing cases against them.

Serious Allegations Against Congress Leaders

KTR also made strong allegations against Congress leaders, claiming that some of them had expressed a desire for former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) to die.

He further alleged that Congress workers were provoked to attack KCR’s Erravelli farmhouse.

KTR Criticizes Assembly Speaker

KTR also strongly criticized the conduct of the Assembly Speaker.

He alleged that the Speaker had turned the Telangana Legislative Assembly into a “Dushasana Sabha”, accusing the government and the Speaker of undermining democratic norms and the rights of opposition legislators.

Governor Assures Action on Incidents Outside Assembly

According to KTR, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla assured the BRS delegation that he would call the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police (DGP) to discuss the incidents that took place outside the Assembly.

KTR said the Governor also told them that such incidents were not good for democracy or the state.

The BRS leader stated that his party had brought the entire sequence of events and its concerns regarding the Congress government’s functioning to the Governor’s attention and sought appropriate action.
