Harish Rao Fires Over 22-A Lands.. Makes Serious Allegations Against Revanth Reddy Government

Former minister and BRS MLA T. Harish Rao has strongly criticised the Revanth Reddy government, alleging that while the previous KCR government worked towards resolving public problems, the Congress government was creating new difficulties for people.

He alleged that people were facing more hardships than relief under the Congress government and accused the ruling dispensation of opening the doors for a “land grab” in Telangana in the name of Praja Palana.

Harish Rao Raises 22-A Land Issue

Harish Rao expressed serious concern over the issue of lands being included in the 22-A prohibited properties list.

Although Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has been claiming that not even a single cent of new land has been added to the prohibited list, Harish Rao said the situation on the ground was completely different.

He alleged that people’s privately owned lands, residential colonies, apartments and even entire villages had been brought under restrictions.

Land Restrictions Affect Families

Harish Rao said the restrictions on land were causing serious problems for ordinary families. People were allegedly unable to sell their own properties to meet urgent financial needs, including children’s education and marriage expenses.

He recalled an incident in Nalgonda district where a family reportedly faced a situation in which a marriage could not take place because of a land-related issue. He said villagers eventually came together and helped the family conduct the marriage.

Revenue Department Must Take Responsibility

Harish Rao demanded that the Revenue Department take full responsibility for the 22-A land issue.

He asked Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy to explain why people were being subjected to difficulties over land restrictions. He also demanded that the minister resign if he was unwilling to take responsibility for resolving the issue.

Government Accused of Targeting Public and Institutional Lands

Harish Rao also alleged that the government was eyeing government lands and lands belonging to educational institutions in Hyderabad.

He claimed that attempts were being made to take over around 400 acres under the jurisdiction of the University of Hyderabad.

He further alleged that around 8,000 acres of land in Medchal district had been mortgaged to raise another ₹10,000 crore in loans. Harish Rao demanded that the government explain its policy of using state assets to raise loans.

Criticism of HYDRA and Musi Development

Harish Rao also criticised HYDRA and the government’s Musi development project.

He alleged that authorities were ignoring constructions belonging to influential people while taking action mainly against the houses of ordinary citizens.

He further alleged that plans were being made to use around 3,000 acres of land for commercial purposes in the name of Musi development.

Harish Rao Alleges “30 Per Cent Commission” Government

Harish Rao alleged that people were talking about a “30 per cent commission” system under the Congress government.

He accused the government of launching counter-attacks against those questioning its decisions instead of addressing the alleged irregularities.

Demand for Transparency on Land Decisions

Harish Rao demanded that the government maintain transparency in all decisions concerning people’s lands and properties.

He particularly urged the government to resolve the 22-A land issue immediately and provide relief and assurance to people whose properties have been affected by land restrictions.

He reiterated that the government must clarify its position on the alleged inclusion of private lands, colonies, apartments and villages in the prohibited list and take immediate steps to address public grievances.
