BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) said that the verdict delivered by the youth against the Congress at the Centre would soon be repeated in Telangana as well. Speaking at a farmers’ conference held in Luxettipet of Mancherial district, KTR warned that the people of Telangana would teach the Congress a strong lesson for deceiving the youth.
He said that if the youth of Telangana rose up against the Congress even once, it would become difficult for the party’s leaders to enter the public. KTR asserted that farmers and youth would together bring down the Congress government, paving the way for a farmers’ government led by K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) to return to power.
KTR Blames Congress Government for Drought-Like Situation
KTR alleged that the drought-like situation currently prevailing in the state was not due to natural causes but was the result of wrong decisions taken by the Congress government.
He criticised the government for its alleged negligence in procuring agricultural produce. KTR claimed that four farmers had lost their lives at procurement centres, yet the government had failed to respond adequately.
He said that the BRS had staged an eight-hour protest demanding justice for the families of the deceased farmers, but the government had not even responded. KTR alleged that even after two and a half months had passed since the incident, the government had not provided a single rupee in financial assistance to the affected families.
BRS Provided ₹5 Lakh Each to Families of Deceased Farmers
KTR said that, on the instructions of KCR, the BRS had provided financial assistance of ₹5 lakh each to the families of the four deceased farmers.
He also recalled that each family had received another ₹5 lakh through the Rythu Bima scheme introduced by KCR. KTR claimed that the BRS alone had stood by the families of the deceased farmers during their difficult time.
KTR Criticises Revanth Reddy Government Over Fertiliser Supply
KTR launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, alleging that he had shown no concern even after four farmers lost their lives.
He claimed that farmers were being unnecessarily troubled by the government by making them obtain urea, which is easily available in shops, only through an app.
KTR alleged that the Congress government was harassing the very people who had voted it to power. He further accused the government of deceiving farmers by withholding four instalments of Rythu Bandhu funds.
Congress Playing “Cheap Politics” Over Kaleshwaram: KTR
KTR also criticised the Congress government over the Kaleshwaram project, calling it a permanent irrigation solution for Telangana.
He alleged that the Congress government was indulging in “cheap politics” over the project. Despite the availability of abundant water in the Godavari, the government was not taking steps to lift and utilise it, KTR claimed.
He alleged that the Revanth Reddy government was deliberately not using the Kaleshwaram project out of fear that KCR would receive credit for it.
KTR further criticised the government, saying that while huge quantities of Godavari water were flowing wastefully into the sea, the government was doing nothing to utilise the water for the benefit of farmers and the people of Telangana.
