KTR Extends Solidarity to Students at Indira Park Protest
BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) participated in a protest held at Indira Park in Hyderabad in support of the nationwide student agitation demanding justice over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination. The protest condemned the reported question paper leaks, alleged malpractices in NEET, and police action against students protesting in New Delhi.
During the demonstration, KTR raised slogans demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and urged the Central Government to abandon what he called its “rigid attitude” toward students’ concerns.
“This Is Not a Political Protest”
KTR clarified that the protest was not organized for political gain but to support students fighting for their future.
He said millions of students across the country are struggling for justice without the backing of any political party. As a father of two children, he said he was deeply moved by the students’ plight and felt it was his responsibility to stand by them.
He added that the BRS has always respected people’s movements and believes supporting students’ democratic struggle is a moral responsibility.
KTR Condemns Police Action Against Students
Expressing concern over the incidents in Delhi, KTR said the visuals of police action against protesting students left him emotionally disturbed.
He criticized the authorities for using force against young people who were only demanding justice.
“The students are not asking for the Prime Minister’s post. They are only asking for justice,” KTR remarked while criticizing the Centre’s response.
He also referred to social activist Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike, comparing it to the movement led by K. Chandrashekar Rao during the Telangana statehood agitation, saying both reflected peaceful struggles for public causes.
“Make in India Has Become Leak in India”
Launching a sharp attack on the Central Government, KTR remarked:
“They promised ‘Make in India,’ but what we are witnessing is ‘Leak in India.'”
He alleged that students and youth have been protesting in Delhi for nearly 25 days, seeking justice beyond political affiliations. Instead of addressing their concerns, he claimed, the government has resorted to police action.
According to KTR, the Hyderabad protest was organized solely to express solidarity with the students.
Youth Should Not Be Underestimated: KTR
Describing the Delhi incidents as “inhuman,” KTR said the younger generation has continued its struggle despite limited media attention.
He warned the Central Government against underestimating the determination of today’s youth.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has chosen to confront the very people he should not. This generation is not afraid of death, nor is it afraid of IT or ED raids,” KTR said.
He urged people across the country to support the students’ fight for justice and emphasized that the concerns of the youth deserve a fair hearing rather than suppression.
