The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has decided to provide ₹5 lakh financial assistance to the families of party leaders who die accidentally. The decision was taken by party president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as part of the party’s efforts to support leaders and workers who actively participate in its organisational activities.
Under the new initiative, families of eligible YSRCP leaders who die in accidental circumstances will receive financial assistance from the party. The programme is aimed at providing support to families during difficult times.
Who is eligible for the ₹5 lakh assistance?
The party has specified certain eligibility conditions for receiving the financial assistance. The deceased person must have been appointed to a YSRCP party committee and issued a valid party identity card.
The death must also be established as accidental. Applicants will have to submit supporting documents such as an FIR copy, post-mortem report or panchanama to establish the circumstances of the death.
Documents required for YSRCP financial assistance
The party has asked local organisational leaders to submit complete details of the deceased along with the required documents.
The application should include:
- FIR copy confirming the accidental death
- Post-mortem report or panchanama
- YSRCP party committee appointment details
- Party identity card details
- Nominee’s bank account details
- Aadhaar card of the nominated family member
The nominee and bank account details should be provided by the deceased person’s family.
How will families apply for the assistance?
The concerned village or ward party president and mandal party president will recommend the case. The complete details must then be forwarded to the party central office through the concerned MLA or Assembly constituency coordinator.
YSRCP has asked MLAs and constituency coordinators to send details of eligible party leaders who have died accidentally without delay. The information must be submitted to the party central office in the prescribed format.
Assistance to apply from October 1, 2026
The new financial assistance programme will apply to eligible YSRCP leaders who die accidentally on or after October 1, 2026.
The party said the initiative is intended to provide organisational support to the families of leaders and workers who have been actively working for YSRCP. The ₹5 lakh assistance is expected to provide immediate financial support to eligible families following an accidental death.
