Tension prevailed in Kuppam constituency in Andhra Pradesh following allegations that Telugu Desam Party (TDP) workers attacked the residence of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) constituency in-charge and MLC Bharat.
According to reports, TDP workers allegedly surrounded Bharat’s house on Palace Road in Kuppam, triggering concerns over the local political situation.
Kuppam Chairman Candidate Vijay Kumar Allegedly Kidnapped
In a separate incident, allegations emerged that Kuppam municipal chairman candidate Vijay Kumar was allegedly kidnapped in a car while he was travelling from his residence in DK Palli.
His wife, Pavani, alleged that her husband was abducted by individuals associated with the TDP while he was on his way to attend the scrutiny process for the nomination he had filed for the chairman post.
Pavani expressed serious concern about her husband’s safety and broke down while speaking about the incident. She held Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu responsible for any harm that might come to her husband.
She also expressed fears that Vijay Kumar’s life could be in danger.
