Sai Krishna Lockup Death Case: Supreme Court’s Key Remarks.. Jagan Calls Them a ‘Slap on Chandrababu Government’

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said the key observations and directions issued by the Supreme Court in the Sai Krishna lockup death case in Vijayawada were a serious setback for the Chandrababu Naidu government. He alleged that the incident highlights concerns over the misuse of police authority by certain officials in the state.

Allegations of Assault and Disappearance of Body

Jagan alleged that Sai Krishna was assaulted after being arrested and brought into police custody, resulting in his death. He further alleged that the deceased’s body was subsequently made to disappear.

Referring to the Supreme Court proceedings in the case, Jagan questioned why the Commissioner of Police (CP) and Director General of Police (DGP) were not included in the list of accused. According to him, the court’s questions raise serious concerns about accountability within the government and police administration.

Jagan Criticises Police System

Jagan also referred to allegations that the police system was being misused under the Chandrababu Naidu government in the name of a “Red Book Constitution.” He said it was particularly concerning that such allegations had emerged from an incident that allegedly took place in the heart of Vijayawada city.

Questions Over Government Accountability

Jagan said the Supreme Court’s observations and directions in the Sai Krishna case raise important questions about the conduct of the police and the responsibility of the state government.

He maintained that the case has brought renewed attention to allegations of abuse of power and the need for accountability in the functioning of the police system.
