Parliament Monsoon Session to Begin on July 20
The official schedule for the 2026 Monsoon Session of Parliament has been announced. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju shared the details through social media, confirming that the session will be held from July 20 to August 13, 2026.
He stated that President Droupadi Murmu has approved the schedule based on the recommendation of the Union Government. The session is expected to serve as a crucial platform for discussions on key national issues, legislative business, and major policy decisions.
Key National Issues Expected to Dominate Discussions
Both Houses of Parliament are likely to witness extensive debates on several important subjects, including the country’s economic situation, national security, development initiatives, public welfare schemes, and contemporary political and social issues.

The NDA government is reportedly preparing to introduce several important bills during the Monsoon Session, including two Constitutional Amendment Bills.
One of the major proposals is expected to be the reintroduction of the 131st Constitutional Amendment Bill with revisions. According to reports, the bill could include provisions related to women’s reservation and constituency delimitation. It is also believed to propose increasing the strength of the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies by up to 50 percent.

The opposition parties are also gearing up to challenge the government on several contentious issues.
