One state… one law… are there separate rules for TDP and YCP?

One State, One Law.. Is There a Different Law for TDP and YSRCP?

Political developments in Andhra Pradesh have once again sparked a fresh controversy. Amid allegations that opposition leaders and YSRCP supporters are being targeted through politically motivated cases, Sridevi, wife of former minister Seediri Appalaraju, has made strong remarks against the coalition government. She questioned whether the law is being applied differently to ruling party leaders and YSRCP supporters.

Sridevi Criticises Chandrababu and Coalition Leaders

Sridevi strongly reacted to the developments surrounding her husband’s family and criticised the approach of Chandrababu Naidu and coalition leaders. She alleged that what was originally a road accident had been turned into a murder case as part of political vendetta.

She questioned why Chandrababu Naidu and other coalition leaders repeatedly discuss the road accident case involving her family, while remaining silent about the car accident involving Sai Ganesh, the son of Palakonda? MLA Mamidi Govindarao.

Why the Silence Over Bhogayya’s Death Case?

Sridevi recalled the fatal road accident that took place in 2024, in which a man named Bhogayya lost his life. According to the victim’s family, the car involved in the accident was allegedly being driven by TDP MLA Mamidi Govindarao’s son.

She alleged that different standards were being followed in the two cases.

“Are different sections applied when the accused belong to your party and different sections when it involves us?” she questioned, demanding equal treatment under the law.

Sridevi also demanded immediate justice for Bhogayya’s family and urged the authorities to take the same legal action in both cases.

Don’t Target Family Members, Says Sridevi

Sridevi said political differences should be fought politically rather than by targeting family members and children. She expressed anguish over what she described as repeated attempts to malign her family.

She also defended her husband’s professional record as a doctor, stating that Seediri Appalaraju had served people honestly beyond political considerations and had saved many lives.

Recalled CPR During Stampede Incident

Sridevi highlighted her husband’s response during the recent stampede incident at the Kashi Bugga Venkateswara Swamy temple. She claimed that Appalaraju immediately performed CPR at the spot and helped save the lives of three people.

She questioned the justification for spreading what she described as false allegations against someone who had helped save lives during the incident.

Demand for Equal Legal Action

Sridevi further alleged that TDP leaders were deliberately spreading misinformation about her family even though proceedings in the case are pending before the court.

She demanded that the same legal sections applied in the case involving Seediri Appalaraju should also be applied in the accident involving the son of MLA Mamidi Govindarao, if the facts and circumstances are the same.

She called for equal application of the law and justice for all, irrespective of political affiliation.
