Amaravati: Jai Bheem Bharat Party leader Jada Sravan Kumar has alleged large-scale irregularities and corruption in the recruitment process conducted for filling around 16,000 teacher posts in Andhra Pradesh through the DSC (District Selection Committee) examination.
Sravan Kumar strongly criticised Education Minister Nara Lokesh for claiming that the DSC recruitment process was conducted transparently. He also rejected Lokesh’s statement that the previous government had not filled even a single DSC post.
Sravan Kumar Rebuts Lokesh’s Claims
Responding to the minister’s remarks, Sravan Kumar pointed out that the previous government had provided jobs to candidates who had been waiting for nearly 25 years after the 1998 DSC recruitment.
He said the government had considered the age of the long-pending 1998 DSC candidates and provided them employment, and questioned the claim that the previous government had not filled any DSC posts.
Allegations of Paper Leak During Paper Setting
Sravan Kumar alleged that the DSC question paper leak took place at the paper-setting stage itself, reportedly through an outsourcing employee.
He demanded a comprehensive investigation into the alleged leak and said the authorities should establish how the question paper was accessed and whether the recruitment process was compromised from the beginning.
Fake Sports Certificates and Irregular Appointments Alleged
The Jai Bheem Bharat Party leader further alleged that some candidates secured teacher jobs by allegedly using fake sports certificates after paying lakhs of rupees.
He claimed that posts meant for meritorious candidates were allegedly given to ineligible candidates under the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) quota in exchange for money.
Sravan Kumar also alleged that some candidates who did not meet the TET eligibility requirements were appointed due to political influence.
Allegations of Fake EWS Certificates
Another major allegation raised by Sravan Kumar relates to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) reservation.
He claimed that around 1,500 to 1,600 ineligible candidates were selected under the EWS quota using allegedly fake EWS certificates.
According to him, candidates belonging to families that exceed the prescribed limits relating to landholding, residential property or annual income are not eligible for EWS reservation.
However, he alleged that candidates from families owning land, flats and rice mills in various areas were still selected under the EWS quota.
Tahsildars Accused of Issuing Fake Certificates
Sravan Kumar also raised allegations against certain Tahsildars, claiming that some officials had allegedly collected substantial bribes for issuing fake certificates.
He said complaints had been submitted regarding the alleged irregularities in several areas of Kurnool and Nandyal districts, but alleged that officials had failed to take appropriate action.
He demanded that the complaints be thoroughly investigated and that officials found responsible should face strict action.
Tribal Youth Allegedly Denied Their Share of Jobs
Sravan Kumar also alleged that around 3,000 teacher posts that were supposed to be filled under the Tribal Welfare Department in Scheduled Areas were included in the general DSC recruitment process.
He claimed that this move had adversely affected tribal youth who were expecting recruitment through the special provisions applicable to Scheduled Areas.
He demanded that the government clarify why these posts were included in the general DSC recruitment and whether the prescribed rules were followed.
Demand for CBI Probe or High Court-Monitored Investigation
In view of the allegations, Sravan Kumar demanded the immediate cancellation of the DSC notification and a comprehensive investigation into the alleged irregularities in the recruitment process.
He called for either a CBI investigation or an inquiry monitored by the High Court to establish the facts and identify those responsible.
Demand for Nara Lokesh’s Resignation
Sravan Kumar said the DSC recruitment issue concerns the future of thousands of unemployed candidates and demanded that those responsible be held accountable.
Holding Education Minister Nara Lokesh politically responsible for the alleged irregularities, he demanded that Lokesh resign from his ministerial post.
The allegations made by Sravan Kumar are subject to verification, and the government’s response to the specific charges would be necessary to establish the facts.
