Jana Sena Leader Guduru Venkateswara Rao Resigns Ahead of AP Local Body Elections

Nellore, Oct 15: In a major political development ahead of the local body elections in Andhra Pradesh, former Jana Sena Party Nellore district general secretary Guduru Venkateswara Rao has announced his resignation from the party. He alleged that despite working actively for the party since its formation, he was denied recognition and faced repeated humiliation.

Venkateswara Rao said he had served as the Jana Sena Party’s Nellore district general secretary for ten years and continued his political journey believing in the party’s ideology. However, he expressed disappointment over being denied a party ticket from the Venkatagiri constituency in the 2024 elections.

Guduru Venkateswara Rao Alleges Injustice to BC Leaders

Belonging to the Backward Classes (BC) community, Venkateswara Rao accused the party leadership of failing to provide adequate recognition and opportunities to leaders from disadvantaged communities.

He said he had trusted Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan’s statements about maintaining unity beyond caste and religious differences. However, he alleged that leaders from BC, SC, ST and minority communities were not receiving sufficient importance within the party.

According to Venkateswara Rao, the party was giving greater priority to leaders from a particular social group. These allegations have raised questions about internal representation and leadership opportunities within the party.

Allegations Against Nagababu

Venkateswara Rao also made allegations against Jana Sena leader Nagababu. He claimed that he had been suspended from the party for 15 days over allegations that he was involved in anti-party activities.

He expressed dissatisfaction with the party’s internal functioning and alleged that leaders who had worked for Jana Sena for years were being treated unfairly.

Criticism of Pawan Kalyan’s Alliance with Chandrababu Naidu

Venkateswara Rao also criticised Pawan Kalyan’s alliance with Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president Chandrababu Naidu. He alleged that Jana Sena leaders were being sacrificed politically because of the alliance.

He said the party depended on its grassroots workers and leaders to strengthen its organisation, but alleged that those who had supported Jana Sena from the beginning were not receiving fair treatment.

He further claimed that Nagababu’s role was damaging the party and causing difficulties for leaders who had remained loyal to the organisation.

Political Impact Ahead of Local Body Elections

Guduru Venkateswara Rao’s resignation comes at a crucial time, with local body elections expected to influence political activity across Andhra Pradesh. His allegations could trigger further debate about leadership, social representation and internal differences within the Jana Sena Party.

However, the political impact of his resignation remains to be seen. The development may draw attention to the concerns of party workers and leaders seeking greater recognition within the organisation.
