Andhra Pradesh Opposition Leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has once again launched a strong attack over the alleged irregularities in the DSC-2025 teacher recruitment process. He said new evidence and complaints are emerging from different parts of the state on a daily basis, raising several questions over the recruitment process.
Jagan demanded that the state government agree to an independent investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to establish the facts behind the allegations.
Jagan Alleges Restrictions on Social Media Accounts
Jagan also alleged that Meta was restricting social media accounts and posts of opposition groups, media organisations, social activists and individuals who were questioning the alleged irregularities in DSC-2025 appointments.
He claimed that several Facebook and Instagram accounts and pages were either being removed or geo-blocked.
According to Jagan, accounts and platforms including Sakshi TV, Sakshi Digital, Big TV and Jagananna Connects, along with other individual social media handles raising questions over the DSC issue, had also faced restrictions.
‘Suppressing Voices Is Against Democracy’
Jagan criticised what he described as attempts to silence voices questioning the government’s alleged corruption, failures, unfulfilled election promises and misuse of official power.
He said freedom of speech and freedom of expression are fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution, and argued that suppressing politically inconvenient questions was unacceptable in a democracy.
He questioned why social media accounts and content raising concerns over the DSC recruitment process were allegedly being restricted instead of addressing the questions being raised.
Questions Over Teacher Appointments Without DSC or TET
Jagan raised serious questions over the eligibility of certain candidates who were allegedly appointed as teachers.
He asked how some individuals could have secured teacher jobs without appearing for the DSC examination and without clearing the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).
He demanded that the government provide a clear explanation regarding the eligibility and recruitment process followed in such cases.
Questions Over Sports Quota Recruitment
Jagan also raised questions over the recruitment of teachers under the sports quota.
He alleged that the government introduced new Government Orders (GOs) relating to sports quota appointments and subsequently cancelled them after the recruitment process had been completed.
Jagan questioned how candidates appointed on the basis of the cancelled GOs were still continuing in government jobs.
He demanded that the government explain the circumstances surrounding the issuance and subsequent cancellation of the GOs, as well as the status of those appointed under them.
‘Are You Afraid of Questions or the Answers?’
Directly questioning Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Jagan said:
“Mr Chandrababu, are you afraid of the questions or the answers?”
Jagan challenged the government to order a CBI investigation immediately if it genuinely believed that the DSC-2025 recruitment process had been conducted honestly and transparently.
He said an independent investigation would establish the facts and place the truth before the people.
Jagan Demands Lokesh’s Resignation
Amid allegations of irregularities in the DSC recruitment process, Jagan also demanded that Education Minister Nara Lokesh take moral responsibility and resign from his post.
He further demanded that all restricted social media accounts, posts and content related to the issue be restored immediately and that what he described as censorship be stopped.
Jagan called on the government to answer all the questions being raised over the recruitment process.
‘Deleting a Post Cannot Erase the Evidence’
Jagan said:
“Deleting a post does not erase the evidence, and blocking an account cannot bury the truth.”
He questioned why the government was allegedly afraid of a CBI investigation if there was nothing to hide in the DSC-2025 recruitment process.
His demand for a CBI probe, along with his allegations regarding social media restrictions and the recruitment of teachers, has now emerged as another major political issue in Andhra Pradesh.
