Problems Come Up in the TDP–Jana Sena Alliance
People who follow politics in Andhra Pradesh are talking more about the problems inside the alliance between the Telugu Desam Party, led by N. Chandrababu Naidu and the Jana Sena Party led by Pawan Kalyan. Jana Sena supporters are worried that Pawan Kalyans promise that the alliance will last for 15 years has made some TDP leaders and members feel too confident and they are attacking and humiliating Jana Sena workers.
Pawan Kalyans Comments Make Jana Sena Members Unhappy
Pawan Kalyan said times that there are some issues in the alliance and everyone needs to adjust. This made some Jana Sena supporters unhappy because they think the party is giving in much to keep the alliance together.
After Pawan Kalyans comments many incidents happened across the state that made people wonder if the alliance is stable.
Incident in Kolluru Starts New Controversy
Something happened in Kolluru, Bapatla district, that became a political issue. A Jana Sena activist, Uppu Janakiramayya, who owns a small noodles shop was allegedly attacked by TDP supporters because he criticized a leader.
The problem got worse when Janakiramayyas family went to the police station to complain about the attack and they were attacked again near the station. This made Jana Sena supporters very angry. Started a discussion about how alliance members are treated at the local level.
Many Violent Incidents Raise Questions
This is not the only time something like this happened. In the two years many incidents of attacks, harassment and even murder of Jana Sena activists and leaders have happened across Andhra Pradesh.
Some of the incidents that caused a stir in politics were:
- The murder of Jana Sena activist Ambati Deepu in Chatrayi village.
- The killing of Sankula Mallayya from Idupuru village.
- The murder of Kapu youth Tirumalashetty Lakshminaidu in Darakanipadu village.
- The suicide of Kapu woman Sheshamma in Vengalayapalem.
- The suicide of Jana Sena activist Vinnakota Ramakrishna from Kaikaluru constituency.
These incidents made people criticize the alliance saying that it only works at the level but there is a lot of competition among members at the local level.
Political Tension Increases in Areas
More incidents, like the attack on advocate Kotipalli Ayyappa and attacks on Jana Sena workers in many places have increased the political tension.
One incident in Machilipatnam was particularly controversial. Jana Sena leaders were allegedly beaten by TDP activists during a dispute over banners. Videos of Jana Sena leaders apologizing and touching the feet of TDP leaders went viral on media and people started debating about it.
Unhappiness at the Local Level Becomes a Big Concern
While the alliance is still united at the top observers think there is a lot of dissatisfaction and competition among members at the level. The growing frustration among Jana Sena members is now a political concern.
Political analysts say that if the problems among party workers are not solved it could eventually affect the stability of the alliance. The Jana Sena Party and the Telugu Desam Party need to address these issues to keep the alliance strong. The future of the alliance depends on how they handle the problems, at the level.
