The controversy surrounding the Sports Quota appointments in Mega DSC recruitment has intensified, with allegations that fake certificates were used to secure jobs meant for eligible candidates with genuine sporting achievements.
The issue has particularly come into focus following allegations by former State Judo Association president Anam Ram Kishore Reddy, who claimed that some candidates from Kurnool district secured jobs using fake InSports Judo certificates. His allegations have now triggered a wider political debate over the transparency of the Mega DSC Sports Quota recruitment process.
Speaking to the media in Nellore, Ram Kishore Reddy alleged that a large number of candidates secured Physical Education Teacher (PET) posts under the Sports Quota in the Mega DSC recruitment. However, he claimed that many of them were not genuine sportspersons and that real athletes were reluctant to come forward and speak about the alleged irregularities.
Mega DSC Sports Quota: Allegations of Fake Certificates
Questions are now being raised over how many of those appointed under the Sports Quota actually participated in recognised sporting competitions and how many allegedly secured appointments merely on the basis of certificates.

If candidates who did not actually participate in competitions managed to obtain appointments using fake certificates, it would not merely amount to an alleged irregularity in recruitment but could also mean that genuine sportspersons were deprived of employment opportunities.

Were the Records Transferred and the PDF Altered?
Another allegation made by Anam Ram Kishore Reddy has become a major talking point.
He alleged that some candidates from Kurnool district secured jobs using fake InSports Judo certificates. According to him, one such certificate claimed that the candidate had participated in a state-level Judo competition held at Infant Jesus School in Nellore in 2018.
However, Ram Kishore Reddy claimed that the concerned individual had not participated in the competition. He said that he was the Nellore district Judo president at the time and was therefore aware of the participants and records relating to the event.
This raises several questions: If a person did not participate in the competition, how was a certificate issued showing that they had participated? How was such a certificate accepted during recruitment? What do the original records show? And were any records allegedly altered?
These questions can only be answered through a proper verification of the original documents and competition records.
Three Sets of Records Exist So How Was the PDF Changed?
Ram Kishore Reddy stated that whenever a championship is conducted, three sets of records are maintained — one with the district association, another with the district-level sports office and a third with the state sports office.
According to him, these records should make it relatively easy to establish whether a particular candidate actually participated in a competition.
However, his allegation that the records were “transferred and the PDF was changed” has added another dimension to the controversy.
If official records were maintained at multiple levels, questions arise over whether any attempt was made to alter them, who was responsible for such changes, who verified the certificates and how the documents submitted for the DSC recruitment were scrutinised by officials.
The authenticity of the certificates and the underlying competition records will therefore be crucial in determining the facts.
“I Have All the Evidence”: Key Statement
Anam Ram Kishore Reddy said that he has all the evidence relating to the alleged irregularities.
His statement that he possesses supporting evidence has added further significance to the allegations.
If documentary evidence is available, producing it before the authorities could help facilitate an impartial investigation. At the same time, there are growing demands for the government to conduct a transparent inquiry into all the allegations.
The issue is not merely about an individual certificate. The larger question is whether genuine sportspersons were denied their rightful opportunities because of allegedly fake certificates.
Letters Sent to CM Chandrababu, Lokesh and Pawan Kalyan
Ram Kishore Reddy said that he had sent letters by courier to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Minister Nara Lokesh and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan regarding the alleged fake certificate issue in the Mega DSC Sports Quota appointments.
He further alleged that he was removed from the post of president because he sought to expose the alleged irregularities.
He also claimed that cases had been filed in court over the alleged irregularities and alleged that attempts were made to obstruct his efforts to bring the issue to light.
These claims, too, would require verification through official records and court documents.
Questions the Government Needs to Answer
With allegations of fake certificates emerging in Sports Quota appointments, demands are growing for the government to clarify how the certificates were verified.
Key questions include:
- Were all Sports Quota certificates thoroughly verified?
- Were candidates’ participation details cross-checked with the original competition records?
- Were the original records of the 2018 Judo competitions examined?
- Were district-level and state-level records compared with the certificates submitted for DSC recruitment?
- How were the certificates authenticated by the concerned authorities?
- If any certificates are found to be fake, will action be taken against those responsible?
- Will appointments obtained through fraudulent documents be reviewed?
- Will genuine sportspersons who may have lost opportunities be given justice?
