Attack on Farmers Committee Leaders Causes Big Political Problem in Andhra Pradesh
Something bad happened in Undavalli village of Guntur district. Some people from the TDP attacked the farmers and members of the Amaravati Farmers Protection Committee. They threw stones and sticks at the car of the Farmers Protection Committee leaders. The car was badly damaged.
YSRCP President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is very angry about this incident. He says the coalition government is not doing its job properly. It is not protecting the people. Is instead helping those who are causing trouble.
“Is This a Government or a Lawless State?” Asks Jagan
Jagan asked the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on media “Mr. Chandrababu, are you running a government or a lawless state?” He thinks the attack on the ministers and MLCs who were with the CRDA Protection Committee is very wrong. They were invited by the Amaravati farmers.
Jagan says this attack is like killing democracy. The people who were attacked were only trying to help the farmers.
Attack Was Meant to Stop People from Talking About Corruption Says Jagan
Jagan believes the attack was planned to stop people from talking about the corruption and bad things that are happening to the farmers in the name of Amaravatis development.
He also says the police did not do their job. They were supposed to protect the people. Instead they helped the attackers. Some police officials even planned the attack, which’s very serious.
Farmers Are Being Harassed
Jagan says the farmers who do not want to give up their land are being harassed. They are getting notices that say they have to give up their land.
He also says that:
- The roads to the farmers fields are being destroyed.
- Soil is being taken away from the fields without permission.
- Water from the Kondaveeti Vagu is being diverted into the farmers fields without their consent.
- The government is registering plots in the names of people without asking the farmers.
All these things are causing a lot of problems for the farmers.
Visiting Farmers Should Not Lead to Violence
Jagan thinks it is very sad that even the leaders who visit the farmers to help them are being attacked.
He asks why the government needs land when it already has so much. He wants the Chief Minister to explain why they need land. Is it to help their friends?
Jagan Says the Government Is Creating a Lawless State
Jagan says the coalition government is creating a state in Andhra Pradesh. They are misusing the police and the government machinery.
He thinks the government is encouraging some groups to suppress the people and stop them from speaking out. After many warnings the government is not changing its ways. There are more incidents of intimidation and lawlessness every day.
People Will React Strongly Warns Jagan
Jagan says the people of Andhra Pradesh will not tolerate the governments actions. They will eventually reject the coalition government. Hold it responsible, for what is happening to the Amaravati farmers.
Jagan promises that the YSR Congress Party will keep exposing the corruption, exploitation and bad things that are happening to the farmers. They will stand by the affected families. Help them.
