Calls for Impartial Investigation into Allegations
Amid growing criticism and allegations surrounding DSC Sports Quota appointments, the CPI(M) State Committee has demanded that the Andhra Pradesh government conduct a comprehensive and impartial inquiry into the issue.
The CPI(M) alleged that several pieces of evidence have emerged suggesting that the guidelines governing Sports Quota appointments were allegedly altered arbitrarily. The party said the fact that some individuals have already been arrested, while the government has announced that investigations are continuing into other incidents, has raised several doubts.
The CPI(M) urged the government to order a comprehensive investigation through an independent agency and prove that there were no irregularities on its part.
Secretariat Employees’ Issues Must Be Resolved
The CPI(M) also demanded that the government immediately address the long-pending issues of Secretariat employees.
The party called for the probation period of employees to be treated as regular service and demanded the immediate release of notional increments, pending Dearness Allowance (DA), and House Rent Allowance (HRA) arrears.
It further demanded that employees who have completed six years of service be granted the Special Grade Scale. The party also called for implementation of a minimum basic salary of at least ₹30,000.
The CPI(M) demanded the immediate cancellation of GO No. 11, which it alleged was causing losses to employees, and urged the government to hold discussions with the employees without further delay.
Fill 20,000 Vacant Police Posts
The CPI(M) State Committee also demanded the immediate filling of nearly 20,000 vacant posts in the Police Department.
The party pointed out that the government had earlier announced that 19,999 police posts would be filled. However, only 1,600 posts have been notified so far, leading to widespread dissatisfaction among unemployed youth, it said.
The CPI(M) extended its support to the unemployed candidates who are continuing their agitation demanding recruitment to the vacant posts.
Cases Against Unemployed Youth Condemned
The CPI(M) State Committee strongly condemned the registration of cases against unemployed youth who staged a protest in Kakinada, as well as against leaders who extended their support to the agitation.
The party alleged that Shyam, the owner of a coaching centre providing training to unemployed candidates, was threatened and that a case was registered against him illegally. The CPI(M) said such action was unacceptable.
The party demanded that the government immediately withdraw the cases registered against the unemployed youth and their supporters and take steps to address their recruitment-related concerns.
