Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s recent foreign trip has triggered a political debate in the state, with the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) questioning why details of the visit were not publicly disclosed.
Reports said Naidu travelled abroad from September 25 to 28 on a private family trip. Unlike official investment-focused foreign tours, the visit was described as a personal break without a government delegation.
YSRCP Questions Chandrababu Naidu’s Secret Tour
YSRCP State General Secretary Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvathi questioned Naidu’s whereabouts and demanded clarity over the purpose and destination of his foreign visit.
According to the YSRCP, the Chief Minister’s travel details were not adequately disclosed while Andhra Pradesh was dealing with several political and administrative issues, including protests, floods and drought-related concerns.
The opposition party also questioned why the trip was being kept private and asked the government to provide details of the Chief Minister’s travel.
Chandrababu Naidu’s Vietnam Trip
Reports circulating in political circles identified Vietnam as the destination of Chandrababu Naidu’s latest foreign visit. The trip reportedly lasted three days and was undertaken with family members.
Media reports described the visit as a private tour, with no official government delegation accompanying the Chief Minister.
However, the political controversy has largely centred on the lack of detailed public information about the visit rather than on any officially announced government programme.
Why Was the Foreign Tour Kept Private?
Unlike an official foreign tour involving investment meetings, government representatives and business delegations, Naidu’s latest visit was reported as a personal trip.
YSRCP leaders have questioned the decision to keep the destination and other travel details private. The party has demanded that the Chief Minister clarify the purpose of the trip and provide complete details.
At the same time, available reports indicate that the government treated the September 25–28 visit as a private family tour. Therefore, claims surrounding the purpose of the trip should be distinguished from confirmed information about its official status.
Political Debate Over Chandrababu Naidu’s Foreign Visit
The issue has now become another point of political confrontation between the ruling TDP-led government and the opposition YSRCP.
YSRCP has used the trip to question the government’s transparency, while reports describing the visit as a private family tour provide a different context.
The controversy is therefore focused on whether sufficient information about the Chief Minister’s foreign travel was made public and what, if any, official activities were associated with the visit.
As Chandrababu Naidu returned to Andhra Pradesh on September 28, attention shifted back to his scheduled official programmes in the state.
