YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and former Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) chairman Byreddy Siddharth Reddy has alleged irregularities in the recruitment process under the District Selection Committee (DSC). He announced that the YSRCP would initiate its first inquiry into the DSC recruitment process immediately after returning to power.
Why No CBI Probe Into DSC Issue?
Siddharth Reddy questioned why the state government was ordering CID and SIT investigations into what he described as unnecessary issues, while not ordering a CBI investigation into the allegations surrounding DSC recruitment.
He demanded a comprehensive and impartial probe into the recruitment process and alleged that the government was avoiding a CBI inquiry despite serious allegations being raised.
Allegations of Fake Sports Certificates
Siddharth Reddy alleged that nearly 100 candidates had secured government jobs using fake certificates. He claimed that forged certificates had been created in sports such as Coco, Softball and Judo, among others.
He also questioned the government’s handling of the alleged paper leak and criticised the claim that action had been taken against only one person in connection with the issue.
Calling it “ridiculous” to say that only one person was responsible, he demanded a detailed investigation into everyone allegedly involved in the recruitment irregularities.
Criticism of Minister Nara Lokesh
Siddharth Reddy also made strong remarks against Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh over the DSC issue. He alleged that TDP workers and police personnel attacked YSRCP supporters during the party’s protest against the alleged irregularities.
He said the YSRCP would continue its fight over the DSC recruitment issue and announced that the party would launch another protest the following day.
YSRCP Says Fight Over DSC Will Continue
Siddharth Reddy reiterated that the YSRCP would continue to raise the allegations concerning DSC recruitment and demand accountability from the government. He said the party would continue its agitation until the issues surrounding the recruitment process were thoroughly investigated.
