Protest Erupts Over Pending Compensation
Dissatisfaction is mounting among families displaced by the Bhogapuram International Airport project over the continued delay in receiving compensation. The issue came into the spotlight once again during the visit of Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, when Markfed Chairman and TDP in-charge for Nellimarla constituency, Karrothu Bangaru Raju, stopped the minister’s convoy and questioned him over the pending compensation for affected families.
Demand for Immediate Assurance
Bangaru Raju urged the Union Minister to provide a clear assurance on when the compensation would be released to the land losers. He stated that several families who had surrendered their lands for the Bhogapuram Airport project are still waiting for full compensation and have been facing hardships due to the prolonged delay.
He demanded that the government respond immediately and ensure justice for the displaced families.
Minister Faces Questions During Visit
According to those present at the spot, Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu attempted to respond from inside his vehicle but did not provide a clear answer regarding the compensation issue. As tensions escalated, police intervened and facilitated the minister’s convoy to move forward without further disruption.
Displaced Families Seek Justice
The displaced families also raised their voices during the incident, urging the government to release the pending compensation without any further delay. They said they had lost their lands and livelihoods for the airport project and questioned how much longer they would have to wait for the promised financial relief.
The protesters appealed to the authorities to resolve the issue at the earliest and fulfill the commitments made to the affected landowners.
