The controversy surrounding AP DSC-2025 recruitments has once again triggered a political storm in Andhra Pradesh. Amid heated arguments over the DSC issue in the ongoing Assembly session, archer Anigi Durgayya, who alleges that he was denied a government job under the sports quota, has made sensational claims.
Durgayya has directly challenged Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Education Minister Nara Lokesh, claiming that he has evidence of irregularities in the DSC recruitment process. He said he was ready to appear before the media and present all the evidence if the date, time and venue were fixed.
“Give Me the Date, Time and Place; I’ll Come With Evidence”
Speaking to Sakshi on Monday, Durgayya said he was prepared to expose what he described as the injustice done to him.
“I challenge the officials of the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP). I won a gold medal and have evidence to prove it. I applied for DSC with my gold medal certificates. But the SAAP MD is allegedly claiming that I submitted silver medal certificates,” Durgayya alleged.
Calling the matter highly unjust, he said he was an Adivasi and had no political affiliation. He challenged those calling his claims fake to fix a date, time and venue, promising to appear before the media with documentary evidence.
35 National-Level Victories and 25 Gold Medals
Durgayya said he had achieved 35 victories at the national level in archery, including 25 national-level gold medals.
Despite his achievements, he alleged that he and other genuine sportspersons were denied jobs under the DSC-2025 sports quota.
“This is a serious humiliation for sportspersons across the country,” he said, becoming emotional while speaking about the issue.
“Where Is the Justice?”
Durgayya claimed that he received a call letter under the DSC sports quota in a 1:1 ratio and that his family celebrated after learning that he had secured a government job.
However, he alleged that despite having all the required certificates, he was ultimately denied the appointment.
Durgayya further claimed that a court had directed the authorities to provide him a job as a gold medallist, but that the appointment had still not been granted.
“All my certificates are valid. I am eligible as a gold medallist. The court has also directed that I be given the job. Then why am I still being denied the appointment?” he questioned.
Gold Medal or Silver Medal Certificate?
One of the key points in the controversy is the disagreement over the certificates allegedly submitted by Durgayya.
Durgayya maintains that he applied for the DSC using his gold medal certificates, while, according to his allegation, the SAAP MD claims that he submitted silver medal certificates.
This has raised several questions: What certificates did Durgayya actually submit? What do the official records show? If gold medal certificates were submitted, why are officials allegedly referring to silver medal certificates?
Durgayya’s offer to publicly produce his evidence has added further significance to the controversy.
“Genuine Sportspersons Were Denied Jobs”
Durgayya expressed strong dissatisfaction with the DSC-2025 sports quota recruitment process.
He alleged that genuine sportspersons like him were denied government jobs despite their achievements. According to him, athletes who have represented the country and won medals should receive opportunities under the sports quota.
He described the alleged denial of jobs to eligible sportspersons as an injustice and said the issue should be thoroughly examined.
DSC-2025 Row Intensifies Amid Political Debate
The allegations have gained political significance as the DSC-2025 recruitment issue is already being debated in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly.
Durgayya’s direct challenge to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh—asking them to announce a date, time and venue for him to present his evidence before the media—has become a major talking point.
If the government maintains that there were no irregularities in the recruitment process, the allegations could potentially invite demands for a clear explanation and verification of the relevant records. At the same time, the authenticity and substance of the evidence claimed by Durgayya will also be crucial.
Durgayya Seeks Probe if Jagan Returns to Power
Durgayya has also appealed for a comprehensive investigation into DSC-2025 if YS Jagan Mohan Reddy returns to power.
He urged that the alleged injustice faced by sportspersons under the DSC sports quota be examined and that eligible candidates be provided justice.
What Do the Records Actually Show?
The central issue now revolves around the documentary evidence.
Durgayya says he applied with gold medal certificates, while he alleges that officials have claimed that he submitted silver medal certificates. He has also referred to a court order concerning his appointment and claimed that he received a call letter under the 1:1 sports quota arrangement.
Therefore, the key questions are: What do the official records show? What evidence does Durgayya possess? What is the government’s response to his allegations? And was there actually any injustice to eligible sportspersons under the DSC-2025 sports quota?
Only an official inquiry and verification of the relevant documents can conclusively establish the facts.
Will the Government Respond to Durgayya’s Challenge?
The allegations by archer Anigi Durgayya have added another dimension to the already heated DSC-2025 controversy in Andhra Pradesh.
Claiming 35 national-level victories and 25 gold medals, Durgayya has strongly questioned why he was denied a government job despite his sporting achievements and alleged court directions.
His challenge “Fix the date, time and place; I will come with the evidence before the media” has now put the focus on both his claims and the government’s response.
Whether Durgayya’s allegations are substantiated or whether the authorities have a different explanation will ultimately depend on the relevant records, documents and any official inquiry into the DSC-2025 sports quota recruitment process.
