Fresh Allegations Over Industrial Land Allocations in Andhra Pradesh
The Andhra Pradesh government is facing criticism again. People are saying that the government is giving away land to private companies at very low prices. This is supposed to be for development and to bring in investment.
The latest problem is about the land given to Gridon Energy Private Limited in the Orvakal Industrial Mega Hub in Kurnool district. This company is new and based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
People are asking if the government is really helping industry grow or just giving away assets cheaply.
Gridon Energy Land Allocation Triggers Controversy
₹238 Crore Worth Land Allotted for ₹4.76 Crore
The Andhra Pradesh government gave Gridon Energy 47.65 acres of land at ₹10 lakh per acre. The total cost was ₹4.76 crore.
The current market price for land in the Orvakal Industrial Mega Hub is about ₹5 crore per acre. So the total market value of the land is around ₹238 crore.
This big difference between the market price and the price the company paid is causing a lot of criticism.
Huge Incentives for an 8-Month-Old Company
Gridon Energy was started 8 months ago in August 2025.. The government is giving the company a lot of special incentives and subsidies.
The company wants to build a solar cell and module manufacturing unit in Orvakal. They plan to invest ₹3,149.5 crore.
The project will only create jobs for 320 people. This is making people question if the incentives are fair.
Subsidies Equal to 69.22% of Investment
People are also talking about how much the government is giving to the company.
Major Incentives Offered to Gridon Energy
| Incentive Type | Estimated Value |
|---|---|
| Capital Investment Subsidy | ₹920.35 crore |
| Power Subsidies | ₹261 crore |
| Electricity Duty Exemption | ₹261 crore |
| Water Supply Subsidy | ₹150.88 crore |
| Stamp Duty Exemption | ₹1.07 crore |
The government is giving the company so much that it is almost 69.22% of the companys investment.
This is making people debate about the burden on the state and if the industrial policies are clear.
NAN Greenmet Also Receives Benefits
There is another company, NAN Greenmet that is getting a lot of benefits. This company was started on November 10 2025.
The Andhra Pradesh government gave NAN Greenmet 21.36 acres of land in Naidupeta at a price. The company wants to build a lithium battery processing unit and will invest ₹1,366 crore.
The project will create jobs for 340 people. The government is giving the company the incentives as Gridon Energy.
Other Companies Receiving Major Land and Incentive Packages
Gridon Energy and NAN Greenmet are not the companies getting a lot of incentives and land.
Other companies like Royal Enfield, Skyroot Aerospace Apollo Tyres Chettinad Cements and Sneha Farms are also getting concessions from the Andhra Pradesh government.
Royal Enfield Project
Royal Enfield got 51.3 acres of land in Satyavedu mandal of Tirupati district at a price. The company will invest ₹2,508 crore. Create around 3,000 jobs.
Skyroot Aerospace Allocation
Skyroot Aerospace got 294.67 acres of land at a price.
These allocations are making people talk about the price of land and the incentives given to companies.
Political Debate Intensifies Over Public Land Usage
Industrial development and investment are important for the economy.. People are questioning if giving away public land at low prices is the right thing to do.
The opposition parties say that public assets are being given away cheaply to companies.
The government says that these incentives are necessary to attract investment and create jobs.
Industrial. Undervalued Public Assets?
The allocations to Gridon Energy and NAN Greenmet are a talking point, in Andhra Pradesh.
Some people think the government is making decisions to boost industry and growth.
Others question if the state is giving away valuable public resources without getting enough benefits in return.
The big question is: is this really helping industry grow or are public lands being sold cheaply?
