KTR Slams Filing of Sexual Harassment Cases Against BRS Leaders

Calls Cases Against Public Representatives ‘Unjust and Malicious’

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has strongly reacted to the registration of sexual harassment cases against BRS MLAs and MLCs following the tensions reported at the entrance of the Telangana Assembly.

KTR termed the filing of such cases against elected representatives as “unjust” and strongly condemned what he described as the misuse of the law for political purposes.

KTR Alleges Misuse of Police Machinery

KTR alleged that a minister had used police officials under his control to register cases against BRS public representatives. He questioned the manner in which the law was allegedly being used against opposition leaders.

He said such alleged misuse of the police and legal system was highly objectionable and warned that the BRS leaders would not be intimidated by the cases.

BRS Leaders Ready to Face Cases in Court

Responding to the issue on social media platform X, KTR alleged that sexual harassment cases had been registered against BRS MLAs and MLCs based on the incident at the Assembly entrance.

KTR made it clear that the BRS leaders would face the cases before the judiciary with confidence and fight them legally.

Questions Telangana DGP Over Miss England Allegations

KTR also directed a series of questions at the Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) over the police response to allegations made during the Miss World events held in Hyderabad.

He questioned what action the Telangana Police had taken over allegations made by Miss England that she was allegedly subjected to inappropriate behaviour by Congress leaders during the event.

‘Will Police Continue to Protect Those Facing Allegations?’

KTR asked whether the Telangana Police would continue to protect those facing allegations in the Miss England controversy.

He questioned why different standards were allegedly being applied in cases involving ruling-party leaders and opposition representatives.

Demands Equal Application of Law

KTR stressed that the law should apply equally to everyone, irrespective of political affiliation.

He also demanded that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi respond to the issue and explain the alleged disparity in the handling of cases involving political leaders.

KTR maintained that BRS leaders would continue to fight the cases legally and questioned what he described as the selective use of the law by the Telangana government.
