Harish Rao Questions Revanth Reddy’s Role in Telangana Agitation
Former Telangana minister Harish Rao launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, stating that he has no moral right to speak about the Telangana movement. Harish Rao alleged that Revanth Reddy never participated in the struggle for Telangana statehood and never even raised the slogan “Jai Telangana.” He asserted that only those who actively fought for the separate state have the credibility to speak about the movement.
Tribute to Late BRS Leader Manyam Venkat Reddy
Harish Rao made these remarks while attending the unveiling ceremony of the statue of late BRS leader Manyam Venkat Reddy at Midjil mandal on Tuesday. He was accompanied by former ministers Lakshma Reddy, Srinivas Goud, and R.S. Praveen Kumar.
Addressing the gathering, Harish Rao recalled that Lakshma Reddy was the first leader to resign during the Telangana movement. He said the people of Telangana would never forget the sacrifices made by leaders who fought for the formation of the state.
Accuses Congress of Weakening Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme
Harish Rao alleged that the Congress government is systematically weakening the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme. He claimed that efforts are being made to divert Godavari waters to other regions, accusing Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of ignoring Telangana’s interests.
He further alleged that the current government is prioritizing the interests of other regions over the welfare of Telangana farmers.
Credits BRS Government for Regional Development
Highlighting developmental works in the Midjil region, Harish Rao said irrigation facilities reached the area due to the efforts of former minister Lakshma Reddy. He also stated that the BRS government had taken special initiative to complete the bridge across the Dundubhi stream near Chilver village, emphasizing that the previous government focused on providing essential infrastructure to the people.
Criticizes Congress Government Over Unfulfilled Promises
Harish Rao criticized the Congress government, saying that despite nearly three years in office, it has failed to deliver noticeable development. He alleged that the government has not fulfilled the promises made during the elections and claimed that public dissatisfaction with the Congress administration is steadily increasing.
Confident of BRS Returning to Power
Paying tribute to late leader Manyam Venkat Reddy, Harish Rao praised his contributions to village development and said the affection shown by people and party workers reflected the continued popularity of the BRS.
He expressed confidence that K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) would once again lead the state and predicted that the next government in Telangana would be formed by the BRS.
Massive Rally Before the Event
Before the statue unveiling ceremony, BRS workers organized a large rally from the Tahsildar’s Office to the Manyam Bal Reddy Complex, giving a grand welcome to the former ministers. Several party leaders, public representatives, and workers participated in the event.
