YSRCP Alleges Election Code Violations in Andhra Pradesh, Writes to SEC and ECI

YSRCP leader Lella Appi Reddy has written to the State Election Commission (SEC) and the Election Commission of India (ECI), alleging widespread violations of the election code of conduct across Andhra Pradesh. He has urged the election authorities to take immediate action against unauthorized political banners, flexi boards, hoardings, and cutouts featuring Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh.

In his letter, Appi Reddy alleged that Telugu Desam Party (TDP) promotional materials were being displayed across the state despite the election code being in force. He claimed that the materials had not been removed and were being installed without adequate enforcement of election rules.

YSRCP Questions Officials Over Election Code Violations

Appi Reddy alleged that municipal, panchayat, and revenue officials across Andhra Pradesh were failing to address these violations. He claimed that no effective action was being taken against those responsible for displaying the political promotional materials.

He also expressed doubts about the neutrality of officials involved in the election process, alleging that their failure to enforce the rules could affect the conduct of free and fair elections.

Demand for Immediate Removal of Unauthorized Political Banners

The YSRCP leader urged the SEC and ECI to intervene immediately and ensure the removal of flexi boards, banners, hoardings, and cutouts that violate the election code of conduct.

He requested clear instructions to be issued to district collectors and district election officers to prevent unauthorized political publicity and ensure compliance with election regulations.

YSRCP Seeks Action Against Officials

Appi Reddy also called for action against officials who fail to implement the directions of the Election Commission. He urged the election authorities to investigate the alleged violations and take appropriate measures to ensure that election rules are enforced uniformly across Andhra Pradesh.

The complaint has brought attention to the enforcement of the election code of conduct and the responsibility of local authorities to maintain a level playing field for political parties during elections.
