YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy held an extensive meeting with the party’s regional coordinators to review preparations for the upcoming local body elections in Andhra Pradesh. The meeting reportedly continued for more than six hours, with discussions focusing on candidate selection, election strategy and campaign planning.
According to party sources, Jagan held district-wise discussions with regional coordinators to assess the party’s ground-level position and readiness for the local polls. The meeting focused on identifying strong candidates, preparing the election agenda and developing effective campaign strategies.
YSRCP Focuses on Candidate Selection
The selection of candidates for municipal elections is expected to be a key priority for the party. YSRCP leaders are reportedly discussing potential candidates for mayoral and municipal chairperson posts, along with the list of candidates to contest in different local bodies.
After the joint meeting, Jagan is understood to have held individual discussions with regional coordinators to gather detailed feedback on political developments and the party’s position in various districts.
Jagan to Oversee Election Strategy
The meeting has indicated that Jagan may directly monitor the party’s preparations for the local body elections, including candidate selection, campaign planning and election-related coordination.
The party’s next steps are expected to focus on finalising candidates, strengthening its district-level organisation and preparing a coordinated campaign ahead of the polls.
Political observers will be watching for further announcements from the YSRCP leadership regarding candidate lists, campaign priorities and the selection of mayors and municipal chairpersons.
