Class 6 Student Found Dead in Hostel Bathroom
A tragic incident has been reported from Sri Chaitanya Navodaya School in Mulaguntapadu panchayat under Singarayakonda Mandal in Prakasam district. On February 14, Sheikh Toushiq, an 11-year-old Class 6 student from Kanigiri, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in the hostel bathroom.
Following her son’s death, Toushiq’s mother, Moulabi, had been fighting for months, demanding action against the school management and the cancellation of the hostel, which she alleged was operating without the required permissions.
Mother Demands Justice for Her Son
Moulabi repeatedly approached officials and the government, seeking a comprehensive investigation into her son’s death. She demanded that the facts surrounding the incident be brought to light, those responsible be identified, and strict action be taken against them.
The family said that Moulabi had previously staged a protest outside the Assembly as well. However, they alleged that despite assurances and words of consolation, they had not received proper justice or a clear commitment from the authorities to take stringent action against those responsible.
Mother Attempts Suicide During Protest
Deeply distressed over the lack of progress, Moulabi resumed her protest outside the school two days ago, as she had done several times in the past.
After sitting in the protest for nearly an hour, she allegedly attempted to consume pesticide. A woman home guard present at the location noticed the incident and knocked the container out of her hand. However, Moulabi had already consumed some of the substance.
Police and 108 emergency medical personnel were immediately alerted.
Shifted to Hospitals in Ongole and Hyderabad
Singarayakonda SI Lella Sudheer Kumar reached the spot and shifted Moulabi to Ongole RIMS in a 108 ambulance.
She was later moved to a private hospital in Ongole for better medical treatment. As her condition deteriorated, she was shifted to Hyderabad. Moulabi was undergoing emergency treatment at a private hospital in Gachibowli.
However, she died on Saturday morning despite medical efforts.
Family Faces Another Tragedy
The family has now suffered another devastating loss, with Moulabi dying after spending months fighting for justice over the death of her son.
Local residents have demanded a comprehensive investigation into Toushiq’s death, identification of those responsible, and strict action against them. They have also called for justice and appropriate support for the bereaved family.
Locals expressed anger, alleging that government negligence had contributed to the situation and demanding that the authorities take immediate steps to address the family’s concerns.
