Despite the coalition government’s repeated claims that there were no irregularities in the DSC–2025 teacher recruitment process, allegations emerging from different districts on a daily basis have raised serious questions over the transparency of the recruitment process.
Reports of alleged changes to sports quota certificates in Srikakulam, a fake blind certificate case in Visakhapatnam, the appointment of an allegedly ineligible candidate in Konaseema, reservation-related discrepancies in YSR Kadapa district, and a controversy over sports quota recruitment in Kurnool have intensified the debate surrounding DSC–2025 recruitments.
Allegations Reported in Several Districts
In Srikakulam, allegations have surfaced over changes to certificates submitted under the sports quota. In Visakhapatnam, questions have been raised over the alleged use of a fake blind certificate.
Meanwhile, in Konaseema, concerns have been expressed over the appointment of a candidate who allegedly did not meet the required eligibility criteria. In YSR Kadapa district, allegations have emerged regarding changes in reservation status, while the sports quota recruitment process in Kurnool has also come under controversy.
Questions Over B.Ed Certificates in Konaseema
The Konaseema case has raised questions over how a candidate could be appointed despite the verification records reportedly indicating that the required B.Ed certificates had not been submitted.
The issue has led to demands for clarification from the authorities on how the candidate cleared the verification process and subsequently received a posting.
Reservation Controversy in YSR Kadapa
A separate controversy has emerged in YSR Kadapa district over the appointment of a BC-E candidate under the OC-EWS category.
The issue has raised questions about whether the reservation norms were followed correctly during the recruitment process and whether the candidate’s category was properly verified.
Education Department Begins Inquiry in Kurnool
The controversy surrounding a sports quota appointment in Kurnool has prompted the Education Department to initiate an inquiry.
However, the department’s simultaneous assertion that the overall DSC recruitment process was completely transparent has drawn criticism and led to further questions about whether all alleged irregularities are being thoroughly examined.
YSRCP Demands CBI Probe
Against this backdrop, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has demanded a CBI investigation into the alleged irregularities in DSC–2025 recruitments.
During the ‘Guru Parirakshana Deeksha’ organised by YSRCP MLCs on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, the party leaders demanded that ineligible candidates be identified and removed, while justice should be ensured for genuinely eligible candidates.
Demand for Nara Lokesh’s Resignation
YSRCP leaders also demanded that Education Minister Nara Lokesh take moral responsibility for the controversy and resign from his position.
YSRCP MP YV Subba Reddy, former minister Kurasala Kannababu and other party leaders strongly criticised the government over the alleged irregularities. They argued that a comprehensive verification of the recruitment process would bring the facts to light.
Calls for a Full-Scale Verification
The growing number of allegations from different districts has intensified demands for an independent and comprehensive verification of DSC–2025 recruitments.
The YSRCP has maintained that a CBI or independent agency inquiry is necessary to establish whether the allegations are genuine, identify any ineligible appointments and ensure that deserving candidates receive justice.
