JanaSena Office Turns Tense Again
The JanaSena State Office in Mangalagiri once again witnessed protests, with contractors staging a sit-in on the road demanding the immediate release of pending bills. Under the banner of the Navya Andhra RWS Contractors Association, the contractors protested outside the office, alleging that payments for works undertaken under the Jal Jeevan Mission have remained pending for nearly two and a half years.
Contractors Allege Only 10% of Bills Have Been Paid
The contractors said they have been approaching officials for the past five to six months seeking clearance of their dues. However, they alleged that only around 10% of the pending bills have been paid so far.
They further claimed that although all the bills were uploaded nearly a month ago, the payments have still not been processed. Expressing serious frustration over the delay, the contractors demanded that the government immediately clear the outstanding amounts.
Demand to Honour Pawan Kalyan’s Assurance
The protesters also recalled the assurance given by Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on June 18. They demanded that the assurance be implemented without further delay and that all pending bills be released immediately.
According to the contractors, they have been waiting for their payments for years despite completing the assigned works. They said continued delays were placing a severe financial burden on contractors.
Contractors Had Protested in May Too
This is not the first time RWS contractors have staged a protest outside the JanaSena office. On May 12, 2026, contractors held a dharna at the same location demanding the release of approximately ₹1,100 crore in outstanding payments.
Even then, the contractors had expressed anger over what they described as the failure of officials and the government to address their concerns.
JanaSena Office Becomes a Venue for Repeated Protests
The JanaSena State Office has increasingly become a focal point for protests by various sections seeking solutions to their grievances.
In recent months, RWS and CPWS contract workers, Kapu leaders, Mallavalli farmers, family members of Sugali Preethi, fishermen, PET candidates and employees, among others, have reportedly staged protests outside the office over their respective demands.
Why Are Different Groups Approaching the JanaSena Office?
Several sections have been questioning why promises made before the elections are not being implemented after the coalition government came to power.
Many of those approaching the JanaSena office reportedly intend to meet Pawan Kalyan directly and seek his intervention in resolving their problems. The repeated protests have therefore raised questions over whether grievances are being effectively addressed through the administration.
Pending Bills Trigger Fresh Political Debate
With RWS contractors once again staging a dharna outside the JanaSena office, the issue of pending bills has returned to the political spotlight.
Questions are being raised over when the contractors’ outstanding payments will be released and whether the assurances given by Pawan Kalyan will be implemented. The increasing number of protests outside the JanaSena office has also led to criticism that the administration is struggling to effectively address public grievances.
The latest protest by RWS contractors has once again brought attention to the gap between assurances and their implementation, putting the issue of pending payments and administrative accountability at the centre of the political debate in Andhra Pradesh.
