The monsoon session of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly has begun, with political activity intensifying in the Legislative Council, where the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has a strong presence. On the very first day, the DSC-2025 issue triggered a heated exchange between the ruling side and the opposition.
YSRCP Seeks Discussion on DSC-2025
YSRCP MLCs Chandrasekhar Reddy, Kalpalatha and Ramachandra Reddy submitted an adjournment motion seeking a discussion on the alleged irregularities and discrepancies in the DSC-2025 recruitment process.
The YSRCP members also demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the alleged irregularities in the recruitment process. Raising slogans in the Council, they called for an immediate discussion on the issue.
Adjournment Motion Rejected
However, the Legislative Council Chairman rejected the adjournment motion submitted by the YSRCP members. Following the rejection, YSRCP members staged a protest in the House.
The opposition MLCs raised slogans such as “Mega DSC.. Daga DSC”, alleging irregularities in the DSC-2025 recruitment process. They demanded an immediate discussion and a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
Ruckus in Legislative Council
The slogans raised by YSRCP members led to some disruption in the proceedings of the Legislative Council. The opposition members continued to press for a discussion on DSC-2025 and demanded that the alleged irregularities be thoroughly investigated.
Minister Nadendla Manohar objected to the slogans raised by the YSRCP members. He urged the Council Chairman to control the members and restore order so that the proceedings could continue smoothly.
BAC to Finalise Session Schedule
Meanwhile, after the Question Hour, the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting is scheduled to discuss and finalise the programme and schedule for the upcoming proceedings of both the Assembly and the Legislative Council.
With the YSRCP raising the DSC-2025 issue on the very first day of the session, the proceedings of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council have become politically significant and are expected to witness further debate over the recruitment process.
