A tragic incident in Rajamahendravaram has left PG medical student Dr. Priyanka (28) fighting for her life. She is currently undergoing treatment at KIMS Hospital in Hyderabad after suffering severe injuries in a car accident.
According to reports, Dr. Priyanka was returning home on her scooter after watching a movie when a group of young men, allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, repeatedly rammed their car into her scooter from behind. The incident has caused widespread outrage.
Questions Raised Over the Investigation
Following the accident, questions have also been raised over the manner in which the case was investigated.
Criticism emerged over allegations that the incident was initially being portrayed as an ordinary road accident and that attempts were allegedly made to protect those responsible.
There were also reports and allegations that political influence was being used to dilute the case and shield the accused. These allegations have intensified public concern over whether the investigation is being conducted in a fair and impartial manner.
Priyanka’s Father’s Emotional Appeal
Amid the growing criticism, Dr. Priyanka’s father, Venkatesh, expressed deep anguish over the alleged lack of response from the Andhra Pradesh government.
He questioned why Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan had not responded to the condition of his daughter, who is reportedly battling for her life in Hyderabad.
“You come to Hyderabad every month, don’t you? Couldn’t you find out about my daughter’s condition? Didn’t the government leaders even think of visiting my daughter, who is undergoing treatment in the hospital? Couldn’t they at least ask the authorities to provide her with the best possible medical treatment on behalf of the government?” Venkatesh asked.
Father Questions Government’s Response
Venkatesh also expressed disappointment that the State Home Minister and district officials had reportedly not responded to the seriousness of the incident.
The family’s concerns have raised broader questions about the government’s response to cases involving women and the accountability of authorities in serious road-crime incidents.
Family Demands Better Treatment and Strict Action
Dr. Priyanka’s family and members of the public are demanding that she receive the best possible medical treatment and that the circumstances surrounding the accident be investigated thoroughly.
They are also calling for an impartial investigation, strict action against those responsible, and appropriate legal measures if the allegations against the accused are established.
