Unanimously Elected as Chairman
The controversy surrounding Vijaya Dairy Chairman Chalasani Anjaneyulu has become a major topic of political discussion in Vijayawada. Within a few hours of being unanimously elected as the chairman, he allegedly came under pressure to resign from the post. Vijaya Dairy Director Vemuri Sai revealed details of the developments and said that Anjaneyulu fell ill due to the pressure and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
During a meeting of the Vijaya Dairy directors, Chalasani Anjaneyulu was unanimously elected as chairman. However, shortly after the election, state ministers Kollu Ravindra and Parthasarathi reportedly visited the Vijaya Dairy office and asked him to immediately resign from the chairman’s post, according to his close associates and directors.
Pressure to Resign
Vemuri Sai alleged that the ministers made it clear that Anjaneyulu had to step down in accordance with the decision of the TDP leadership and that there was no scope for delaying the resignation.
Anjaneyulu reportedly requested one day’s time to consider the matter, but the ministers allegedly did not agree to his request, Sai said.
Director Vemuri Sai’s Allegations
Vemuri Sai stated that the election was conducted democratically and that Anjaneyulu had served as chairman for the past seven years. He said all the directors had unanimously re-elected him as chairman.
However, despite the unanimous election, the ministers allegedly continued to pressure him to resign. Sai further claimed that a resignation letter was even sent to Anjaneyulu at the hospital through the directors.
Anjaneyulu Falls Ill During Discussions
According to Sai, Chalasani Anjaneyulu fell ill while discussions with the ministers were underway on Thursday evening. He was subsequently shifted to a private hospital in Vijayawada, where he is currently receiving treatment.
At the same time, allegations have surfaced that pressure was also being exerted on the hospital management to discharge Anjaneyulu immediately. However, these allegations have not been independently verified.
No-Confidence Motion Rumours
There is also speculation that if Anjaneyulu refuses to resign, efforts could be made to move a no-confidence motion against him with the support of other directors.
Reports that pressure is also being exerted on the remaining directors have further intensified the political debate surrounding the issue.
The allegations made by Anjaneyulu’s close associate after visiting him at the hospital and speaking to the media have created a fresh political controversy surrounding the Vijaya Dairy chairman’s post.
