Bhumana Targets Minister Nara Lokesh
Former TTD Chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy has alleged that corruption is taking place on a massive scale in Andhra Pradesh and claimed that Minister Nara Lokesh has a role in these irregularities. According to Bhumana, TTD is being “completely exploited” through alleged corruption in the procurement of medicines and surgical equipment.
He alleged that irregularities extend beyond medicine purchases to tenders for high-value medical equipment installed at SVIMS and BIRRD hospitals in Tirupati.
Questions Raised Over L1 Tender Process
Bhumana alleged that corruption is being carried out in the name of L1 tenders, claiming that large-scale financial irregularities are taking place in the presence of influential individuals.
He further alleged that certain companies are being selected through pre-arranged agreements, purchasing products at lower prices and later supplying them to TTD at inflated rates. He said there was information suggesting such practices were taking place.
Demand for Transparent Investigation
Bhumana Karunakar Reddy urged the Andhra Pradesh government to conduct a transparent and impartial inquiry into the allegations. He said only a detailed investigation would bring out the truth and fix accountability, while ensuring transparency in public procurement within TTD-run institutions.
