Pawan Kalyan Says He Was Moved to Tears Over Criticism of PM Modi
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said he was deeply emotional and even moved to tears after hearing Prime Minister Narendra Modi being criticized. Speaking at a public event in Bhogapuram, Pawan said that the criticism directed at Modi during protests at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi caused him great pain.
He stated that Narendra Modi had worked extremely hard to rise to the position of Prime Minister and that many in the younger generation fail to understand the struggles behind his journey before criticizing him.
Political Analysts Say Youth May Not Agree
However, political analysts believe that Pawan Kalyan’s remarks may not resonate with a large section of the youth. They argue that during the nationwide protests over alleged administrative failures in the NEET examination, the Central Government should have focused on addressing students’ concerns through dialogue rather than allowing the situation to escalate.
According to analysts, students expected the government to respond constructively to their grievances instead of merely defending its position.
Questions Raised Over Response to Student Protests
Critics point out that when student protests intensified, the Centre faced allegations of relying on police action rather than discussions. Reports of lathi charges and the use of force against protesting students drew widespread criticism.
Against this backdrop, political observers are questioning why Pawan Kalyan did not publicly express similar concern for students who were protesting over issues affecting their future.
Critics Recall Pawan’s “Question the Government” Stand
Opposition voices and some analysts have also recalled Pawan Kalyan’s earlier political slogan that he entered politics “to question those in power.” They argue that portraying young protesters as disruptive forces while defending the government appears inconsistent with his earlier image.
They maintain that in a democracy, every political leader including the Prime Minister must be prepared to face public criticism and respond to people’s concerns rather than dismissing dissent.
Debate Over Youth Sentiment and Political Impact
Political analysts say that expressing sympathy only towards Prime Minister Modi, while remaining largely silent on student issues, could create a negative perception among sections of the youth. They believe such an impression, if it grows stronger, could have political consequences in the future.
There is also speculation in political circles that Pawan Kalyan’s comments have triggered internal discussions within the Jana Sena Party regarding how the party is being perceived by young voters.
