Referring to the previous administration, YSRCP leaders say that the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy government extended assistance not only to the families of deceased fishermen but also provided compensation for boats that were completely damaged in accidents.
The party claims that special measures were taken to help affected fishermen rebuild their livelihoods and resume fishing activities.
YSR Matsyakara Bharosa Provided ₹538 Crore to 5.38 Lakh Fishermen
According to YSRCP, the YSR Matsyakara Bharosa scheme benefited around 5.38 lakh fishermen across Andhra Pradesh, with financial assistance totaling ₹538 crore.
The scheme was designed to support fishermen during the annual fishing ban period, when they lose their regular source of income.
The party says the financial aid served as a crucial economic cushion for thousands of fishing families.
₹148 Crore Distributed as Diesel Subsidy
YSRCP also states that the previous government provided ₹148 crore as diesel subsidy to reduce the fuel burden on fishermen.
The subsidy reportedly helped thousands of fishermen continue marine fishing operations despite rising fuel costs.
