Farmers Express Concern Over Recent Incident
The farmers in the Capital Region of Andhra Pradesh are really worried about what happened recently in Undavalli. Some leaders of the YSRCP Farmers Protection Committee were attacked in Undavalli. The farmers from Undavalli, Penumaka and Nidamarru talked to the media about this. They said that this incident shows that one political group is in control of the Capital Region.
Attack on Delegation Condemned
The farmers did not like the attack on the leaders who came to talk about their problems. They said this is not how things should be done in a system. The farmers think that the people who did the attack were not farmers but people who support the Telugu Desam Party.
A farmer named Veera Reddy said that the people in the village know who did the attack. He said that these people are connected to the TDP. Another farmer, Sridhar Reddy said that he will give ₹1 lakh to anyone who can prove that the attackers were farmers. He also said that a few farmers from the land-pooling area were at the scene and the rest were from outside.
Farmers Say They Were Denied Access to Government Leaders
The farmers tried to meet the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh times but they were not able to. They wanted to talk to them about their concerns. They were not given the chance.
The farmers are also not happy with Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. He had promised to help the people who were against the land acquisition. He did not keep his promise after he took office.
Concerns Over Political Exclusivity in the Capital Region
The farmers think that the recent events are making it seem like the Capital Region only belongs to one party or group. A farmer named Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy from Nidamarru said that the Capital Region should be for all the people of Andhra Pradesh.. It seems like it is only for a certain group of people.
He also said that stopping people from entering the 29 villages in the Capital Region sends a message that this area’s only for a select group. The YSRCP leaders and the farmers are not happy about this situation.
Landowners Allege Multiple Difficulties
The farmers who did not give up their land are facing problems. They said that the roads to their fields have been dug up and the drainage systems have been damaged. This is affecting their farming activities.
The farmers also said that the records of their land are not correct. The records in the revenue documents are different from the ones in their land ownership records. This is causing them a lot of trouble.
Complaints Over Land Registrations and Compensation
The farmers said that they are not able to sell their land or transfer it to their family members. This is because the property registrations have been stopped.
The farmers also think that the compensation they are getting for their land is not fair. They said that the value of their land is very high in the market. The government is not giving them enough money. The farmers are not happy, with the Land Acquisition Act.
Farmers Raise Concerns Over Democratic Rights
The farmers said that the governments policies are creating fear among the people. They think that anyone who questions the government is being labeled as “anti-Capital” or a supporter of the YSRCP.
