Will Vijay Government Fail to Complete Five Years? Stalin's Sensational Remarks Spark Political Storm in Tamil Nadu

Stalin’s Remarks Trigger Political Debate

Tamil Nadu politics has once again become the center of attention after DMK president M.K. Stalin made sensational remarks about the future of the state government. Stalin claimed that the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) government led by Chief Minister Joseph Vijay is unlikely to complete its full five-year term. He stated that, given the current political developments, the government could collapse at any time.

Government Lacks a Clear Majority, Says Stalin

Addressing a public gathering, Stalin alleged that the TVK government was not formed with a clear majority in the Tamil Nadu Assembly. He pointed out that while 118 seats are required to secure a majority, TVK won only 108 seats in the Assembly elections. According to him, the Vijay-led government has been surviving only with the support of several parties that were earlier associated with the DMK alliance.

Possibility of Early Elections

Stalin said it is difficult to predict how long the present government will remain in power. He suggested that Tamil Nadu could witness fresh Assembly elections within the next three to six months if the political situation continues to remain unstable.

Calling upon DMK leaders and party workers to stay prepared, Stalin urged them to strengthen the party at the grassroots level and intensify outreach programs in every constituency. He emphasized that the party should be election-ready at all times.

Assembly Election Results

In the recent Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, TVK emerged as the single largest party by winning 108 seats. DMK secured 59 seats, while AIADMK won 47 seats. The Congress and other parties together won 20 seats.

Following the election, the Congress, Left parties, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), and a few other parties extended their support to TVK, enabling Joseph Vijay to form the government.

MDMK Extends Support to TVK

In another significant political development, the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK), led by Vaiko, reportedly ended its association with the DMK alliance and announced support for the ruling TVK government.

This development has further altered the political equations in Tamil Nadu and fueled discussions about the stability of the current government.

Speculation Over Political Stability Intensifies

Stalin’s latest comments, coupled with the changing political alignments in the state, have intensified speculation about the possibility of early Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. With alliance dynamics continuing to shift, political observers are closely watching whether the Vijay-led government can maintain its majority and complete its tenure.
