Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSRCP President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said the TDP government did not care about Women Self Help Groups after they came to power. He said they promised a lot to women during elections but did not even give them the interest subsidy that they were already getting.
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said women lost about ₹6,000 crore in benefits over the two years because the government did not keep their promises.
The Government Did Not Keep Its Promises
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said the TDP manifesto had promises for women. These promises included:
- Increasing the interest loan limit for Self Help Groups from ₹3 lakh to ₹10 lakh.
- Paying off womens loans in four parts.
- Helping women get loans from banks.
- Starting programs to make women financially independent.
Y.s. Jagan Mohan Reddy said the government did not do anything about these promises after they came to power.
The Government Did Not Give Money
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy looked at the budget and said the government did not give any money for the interest subsidy scheme.
- In 2024-25 they gave ₹0.
- In 2025-26 they said they would give ₹100 crore. They did not give anything.
- In 2026-27 they said they would give ₹100 crore again.
He said the government only made promises on paper but did not give any money to womens groups.
Where Did The ₹6,000 Crore Go
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said if the TDP government had kept their promise of giving interest subsidy up to ₹10 lakh per Self Help Group women would have gotten about ₹3,000 crore every year.

YSRCP Government Helped Women
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said his government helped women between 2019 and 2024. They gave ₹4,969 crore as interest subsidy to women Self Help Groups.

- They started programs like YSR Cheyutha.
- They started interest subsidy programs.
These programs helped women become financially secure and start their businesses.
Self Help Groups Got Loans
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said during his government Self Help Groups got loans from banks than they thought they would.

Loans Are Important For The Rural Economy
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said loans to Self Help Groups are very important for the economy.
- If women do not get loans they will not be able to start businesses.
- If women do not start businesses they will not have money.
- If they do not have money they will not be able to buy things.
- If they do not buy things the rural economy will suffer.
He also said that the tax revenue of Andhra Pradesh only increased by 3.22 percent in 2025-26 which means the rural economy is not doing well.

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said the TDP government forgot about women after they came to power.
“The TDP government made promises to women during elections but they did not keep any of them. They did not even give them the interest subsidy that they were already getting which means women lost thousands of crores ” he said.
