Allegations of Misrepresentation
Gudivada Amarnath, YSRCP leader and former minister, has responded to the controversy surrounding his alleged remarks on Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha. He claimed that his comments were deliberately distorted and used for political propaganda.
He clarified that he never made any statement targeting women in general and said his remarks were only in response to comments made by a specific individual. He accused the Telugu Desam Party (Telugu Desam Party) of running a false campaign across the state to mislead the public.
Response to Political Criticism
Amarnath stated that he stands by his comments and warned that if the Home Minister repeats similar remarks, he would respond in the same manner again. He alleged that TDP is conducting a “fake movement” to politically target him.
He also remarked that the controversy has been amplified only three days after his speech on June 12, suggesting that TDP leadership reacted with delayed outrage for political benefit.
Clarification on Women’s Respect
Rejecting allegations of disrespect toward women or Dalit communities, he said his comments were being wrongly linked to them as part of a political conspiracy. He emphasized that women are treated with equal respect within his party.
He also stated that there is no difference in respect offered to women leaders of TDP or his party, asserting that his political organization maintains equal regard for all women.
Personal Background and Reaction
Amarnath said he was provoked by what he described as disrespectful remarks made against him by Home Minister Anitha. He noted that he comes from a three-generation political family and was compelled to respond only because of personal comments directed at him.
He reiterated that there was no intent to insult women and accused opponents of twisting his statements for political gain.

Amarnath also targeted the JanaSena Party, alleging that its leaders were echoing scripts provided by the TDP headquarters. He demanded clarity on earlier remarks made by Pawan Kalyan regarding other political leaders, including Roja.
