YSRCP State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said that the party’s statewide protest programme, titled “Two Years of Betrayal Governance”, received an overwhelming response from the public. According to him, large numbers of people voluntarily participated in the demonstrations across Andhra Pradesh, reflecting growing dissatisfaction with the government led by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
Sajjala stated that the enthusiastic public participation showed that people were increasingly frustrated with what they viewed as unfulfilled promises and poor governance during the coalition government’s two years in power.
YSRCP Highlights Government’s Failures Over Two Years
Criticising the government’s performance, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy alleged that the coalition administration had failed to deliver on the commitments made during the election campaign. He claimed that several welfare initiatives that had previously benefited people were either weakened, delayed, or discontinued after the change in government.
According to him, people from various sections of society have faced hardships during the past two years. He argued that the government’s inability to address public concerns has led many citizens to compare the current administration unfavourably with the previous government headed by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Allegations of Suppression and Misuse of Power
Sajjala accused the government of attempting to suppress dissent from the day it assumed office. He alleged that democratic voices were being targeted and that laws and administrative mechanisms were being used for political purposes.
He further claimed that technology and communication platforms were being misused to spread misinformation and tarnish the image of political opponents. According to Sajjala, despite completing two years in office, the government has little to showcase in terms of tangible achievements for the public.
“Voice of the Voiceless”: YSRCP’s Campaign Against Public Issues
Describing the YSRCP as the “voice of the voiceless,” Sajjala said the party has consistently stood with people affected by government decisions. He maintained that the opposition has been raising issues concerning welfare beneficiaries, farmers, youth, women, and other vulnerable sections of society.
He alleged that many families dependent on government support were facing difficulties because welfare programmes had either been reduced or implemented inadequately. Despite what he described as attempts by authorities to obstruct protests in certain areas, Sajjala said people still turned out in large numbers to express their disappointment with the government’s performance.
Criticism of Nara Lokesh and Recruitment Policies
Sajjala also targeted IT Minister Nara Lokesh, alleging that he was interfering in multiple matters while failing to effectively discharge his ministerial responsibilities.
He further raised concerns regarding teacher recruitment processes, claiming that the government’s lack of transparency had created doubts and suspicion among aspiring candidates and the public.
Questions Raised Over Pawan Kalyan’s Role
Turning his attention to Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Sajjala said that despite earlier promises to speak out on public issues, the Jana Sena leader had remained largely silent on matters affecting ordinary people.
He alleged that instead of addressing governance failures, the coalition government’s focus had shifted towards targeting and discrediting former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Fuel Prices and Unfulfilled Welfare Promises
Sajjala also criticised the government over fuel prices, claiming that Andhra Pradesh continues to face some of the highest fuel costs in the country. He questioned why the government had failed to provide relief despite its election promises.
He urged people to seek answers from the government regarding welfare schemes, financial assistance programmes, and other commitments that, according to him, remain unfulfilled even after two years in office.
YSRCP Vows to Continue Public Struggle
Concluding his remarks, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said the YSRCP would continue to fight on behalf of the people and hold the government accountable for what he described as two years of broken promises and administrative failures.
He asserted that the success of the “Two Years of Betrayal Governance” protests demonstrated the growing public dissatisfaction with the Chandrababu Naidu government and signalled increasing support for the opposition’s campaign against the coalition administration.
